5 Clues is a daily word guessing game. We built it to be fun, not to collect your data. Here's exactly what the app does and doesn't do with your information.
Game progress: Your completed puzzles, scores, streak data, hint count, and stats are stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your phone.
Purchases: Records of your in-app purchases (puzzle packs, hints, streak freezes, Archive Pass) are stored locally and managed through Apple's StoreKit. We do not have access to your payment information.
Settings: Your preferences (sound, haptics) are stored on your device only.
The free version of 5 Clues displays banner ads and occasional interstitial ads. These ads are served by third-party ad networks. The Archive Pass and Unlock Everything purchases remove banner and interstitial ads.
Rewarded ads (watch a video for a benefit) remain available as an optional feature even after purchase.
Ad networks may collect device identifiers and usage data according to their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to this data.
We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Specifically: no user accounts or login, no email addresses, no names, no location data, no contacts, no photos, no health data, no browsing history. We do not use analytics SDKs or tracking tools beyond what the ad networks require.
The app offers optional one-time purchases and consumable purchases processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not have access to your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs those transactions.
All game data is stored exclusively on your device. If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed. There is no cloud sync or backup.
This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
If we update this policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated date.
